The Black Tie BBQ Athens Wedding - Sydney & Kyle
In July, I got the chance to meet Debbie, Sydney's mom who also happens to be my neighbor, to chat about coordinating Sydney and Kyle's October wedding. I was very excited because their wedding posed a new challenge for me: Coordinate a wedding for a couple that lives out-of-state. Since I was an out-of-country bride myself and I had been in their shoes, I knew this was a perfect match!
When their wedding week finally arrived, I'm not going to lie, I literally checked my weather app every morning keeping my fingers crossed that Hurricane Matthew wouldn't mess with the outdoor reception space, but thankfully we were blessed with a sunny and beautiful day, and on October 8th Sydney and Kyle celebrated their Black Tie BBQ themed wedding.
The wedding began with a ceremony at the Seney-Stovall Chapel in Athens, where the Officiant was actually one of the groom's best friends, which made it very sweet, funny, and special. The guests were then invited to the Taylor Grady House for an outdoor cocktail hour and reception space with DIY centerpieces, tents, chandeliers, and string lights.
My favorite part of this wedding was how the bride and groom implemented their personality throughout the day. From running a race that morning, to having table cards with their favorite band names instead of table numbers, every element was a celebration of them as individuals and as a couple.
To Sydney and Kyle, I want to say that it was such a pleasure getting to know you and working with you from afar. Congratulations again and all the best in this new chapter as Mr. and Mrs. James.
To Tim and Debbie, the parents of the bride, I want to thank you for all your hard work and for trusting me with such an important day for your family.
To Mary, Joan, Jennifer and others that assisted with setup and breakdown, thank you for being so efficient and helpful, you did such a great job!
